Baubles

I am mildly obsessed with the site Bauble Bar.  They have the biggest variety of fun jewelry ranging from tiny midi rings to chunky statement jewelry.  Most pieces are pretty reasonably priced.  If you sign up for their email (which, hello - I'm signed up for every shopping site there is!) they will send out occasional emails that are really fun called the "Buried Bauble".  They give you a clue and you go find the piece that's on sale for usually around $10.  They also have AMAZING collection collabs with style goddesses they call "Guest Bartenders" like Ingrid, Blair and the latest by Emma Roberts.

If you are looking to make a decent sized purchase just sign up for their emails and score 15% off of your first haul!

FYI - I'm in no way being paid or coaxed into saying all this. Despite what you may believe I'm really not that big of a deal (I know, I know).  I'm just a fan and a loyal late night shopper.  Here are just a fraction of what I would call my favorites.

H&M Fall Fashion

Is it just me, or is H&M absolutely killing it right now?  Living far from the city I only get to H&M every so often.  However, I have the app on my phone, so I am constantly scanning the new arrivals.  Not to mention the prices on most things are shockingly reasonable.  I am a Summer girl through and through, but there is just something about the fashion for Fall that gets me so excited.  These are a few of my favorites that will probably make their way into my closet this season.

Workin' It

Let's take a second to talk about my number one passion (next to my family, faith, all that obvious stuff!) - HEALTH!  I am a health nut and a fitness lover!  Besides being a mommy to my little one and helping with my husband's business, I am a holistic health coach.  What can I say?  I wear many a' hats.    I could talk all day about yummy, whole food, and I absolutely love to help people find their happy balance when it comes to eating, working out, and just living a healthy lifestyle.

Fitness goes right along with it.  I love all forms of exercize, and I don't ever stick with just one for too long.  I have tried it all from yoga to running to Crossfit to spin....and I love it all!  I think it is so important to switch up your routine to keep your body guessing and to keep from getting bored.  If I just had to run every single day I would lose my mind!  But if I run a few times a week and add in some group classes and weight training I am golden!  Your body loves to be surprised!

Let me be the first to say - I KNOW you are busy.  That is without a doubt the number one excuse I get from people as to why they are eating crappy and not working out.  My favorite response is :

"You the same amount of hours in your day as Beyonce."

You feel me?

If something is important to you than you will make time for it.  You don't have to spend 2 hours at the gym by any means!  Just doing a little something active everyday followed by a healthy diet is going to make you feel like a million bucks!  I have a little one that keeps me on my toes every minute she is awake, so finding time for me is even a struggle.  BUT, I make it happen!  Thankfully my gym has an amazing kids area that I can take her to.  She's at a very clingy stage right now, though, so some days she just isn't feeling it!  So here is an example of an active day for me.  I'll take you through my day yesterday.

8:00am - Olive wakes up and we go downstairs.  I have a cup of coffee while she plays and picks at her breakfast.  She is NOT a breakfast person, so I consider a few bites a victory.

9:00am - I get dressed, buckle her in the jogging stroller, and we take a run around the neighborhood.  I only get in 1.65 miles because "Mommy it's really hot!"  We head back.

10:00am - My breakfast

We play and I clean up around the house until lunch at noon.  Add in a shower somewhere and more playing mixed with some Yo Gabba Gabba.  Olive usually goes down for a nap between 2-4PM.

4:00PM - Olive naps (FINALLY) and I follow a HIIT workout here at the house.  SUPER simple.  If I am home working out I like to check out Pinterest or Bodyrock.tv for some really good cardio workouts.  I ended up following this one:

3 minute stair run
50 jumping jacks
1 minute wall sit
50 mountain climbers
20 push ups
1 minute plank
50 bicycle crunches

Repeat this cycle as many times as you can handle want! I got 3 in.

After this she wakes up and we make a quick grocery store run for dinner.  Walking counts as cardio? Of course!

I took you through all this just to show you that you CAN make time no matter what your day holds!  There are different seasons in everyones lives where working out may not be a top priority, but I encourage everyone to do something active each day!

Please contact me at any time via email and I would be ecstatic to chat about how to make healthy eating and fitness a part of your life :

I promise you will feel so much better, and there is no better feeling than knowing you are taking care of your body each day!

Splurge Vs. Steal - Pt. 2

In the random and rare occasions that I have to actually have some adult interaction that doesn't involve kids, I want to make a little extra effort to look somewhat pulled together.  This could be a shopping trip, coffee, or dinner date with a girlfriend.

These looks could easily be for day OR night just depending on makeup, hair, and accessories.  I LOVE white shorts or jeans (Labor Day, Shmabor Day!) but they are VERY hard to wear chasing my little boo around.  Her hummus smears and crayon strokes laugh in the face of white clothing.  But if I know I can get out of the house and stay semi-clean I am all about them!

I also love wearing heels or wedges of any kind (I'm a whopping 4'11''!) and wear them any chance I get.  My hat is off to moms who can carry a diaper bag, a toddler, and push a stroller in stilettos...that just ain't me!  If you are taller and don't need/want heels OR if your feet are just killing you from being on the move all day, I HIGHLY recommend Tieks.  They are the most comfortable and gorgeous flats. They come in so many different colors and even textures.  Worth the investment!

I have one more Splurge Vs. Steal planned, but let me know what you would like to see!  I love doing these posts!

What other things would you like to see me touch on?  I want to keep this blogging thing consistent and reach a big audience - fashion, beauty, health, motherhood...let me know what you all like hearing about becaaaaause I like to talk.  Obvi.

Hope you have a wonderful day, and thanks for stopping by xoxo

Splurge Vs. Steal - Pt. 1

In an effort to keep the somewhat monotony of day in and day out "mommy life" a little more exciting, I make the most valiant effort possible to shower  get dressed in a semi-normal outfit each day (i.e. NOT just t-shirts and running shorts).  There are many days when all we do is play around the house...cleaning, coloring, and swimming in the baby pool are some of the most regular times in this joint.  However, for sanity I like to venture out at least once a day for errands.  This could be the post office, the grocery store, or just to the coffee shop up the street.

For a stay at home mom, staying in PJs all day sounds very tempting.  But I honestly think for your overall morale it's a good idea to get dressed and put a little makeup on each day just to make you feel nice.  This thought started my idea for this "Splurge Vs. Steal" series.

This first outfit could be for any of those little errands.  I LOVE loose shirts, boyfriend jeans, and sandals.  It's a go-to look for me.  As well as cuffed, longer shorts.  These looks are so easy to pull off with next day, curly hair or a messy top-knot.  Because who doesn't feel better walking around Whole Foods or Target looking like you semi have your life together?
