Workin' It

Let's take a second to talk about my number one passion (next to my family, faith, all that obvious stuff!) - HEALTH!  I am a health nut and a fitness lover!  Besides being a mommy to my little one and helping with my husband's business, I am a holistic health coach.  What can I say?  I wear many a' hats.    I could talk all day about yummy, whole food, and I absolutely love to help people find their happy balance when it comes to eating, working out, and just living a healthy lifestyle.

Fitness goes right along with it.  I love all forms of exercize, and I don't ever stick with just one for too long.  I have tried it all from yoga to running to Crossfit to spin....and I love it all!  I think it is so important to switch up your routine to keep your body guessing and to keep from getting bored.  If I just had to run every single day I would lose my mind!  But if I run a few times a week and add in some group classes and weight training I am golden!  Your body loves to be surprised!

Let me be the first to say - I KNOW you are busy.  That is without a doubt the number one excuse I get from people as to why they are eating crappy and not working out.  My favorite response is :

"You the same amount of hours in your day as Beyonce."

You feel me?

If something is important to you than you will make time for it.  You don't have to spend 2 hours at the gym by any means!  Just doing a little something active everyday followed by a healthy diet is going to make you feel like a million bucks!  I have a little one that keeps me on my toes every minute she is awake, so finding time for me is even a struggle.  BUT, I make it happen!  Thankfully my gym has an amazing kids area that I can take her to.  She's at a very clingy stage right now, though, so some days she just isn't feeling it!  So here is an example of an active day for me.  I'll take you through my day yesterday.

8:00am - Olive wakes up and we go downstairs.  I have a cup of coffee while she plays and picks at her breakfast.  She is NOT a breakfast person, so I consider a few bites a victory.

9:00am - I get dressed, buckle her in the jogging stroller, and we take a run around the neighborhood.  I only get in 1.65 miles because "Mommy it's really hot!"  We head back.

10:00am - My breakfast

We play and I clean up around the house until lunch at noon.  Add in a shower somewhere and more playing mixed with some Yo Gabba Gabba.  Olive usually goes down for a nap between 2-4PM.

4:00PM - Olive naps (FINALLY) and I follow a HIIT workout here at the house.  SUPER simple.  If I am home working out I like to check out Pinterest or Bodyrock.tv for some really good cardio workouts.  I ended up following this one:

3 minute stair run
50 jumping jacks
1 minute wall sit
50 mountain climbers
20 push ups
1 minute plank
50 bicycle crunches

Repeat this cycle as many times as you can handle want! I got 3 in.

After this she wakes up and we make a quick grocery store run for dinner.  Walking counts as cardio? Of course!

I took you through all this just to show you that you CAN make time no matter what your day holds!  There are different seasons in everyones lives where working out may not be a top priority, but I encourage everyone to do something active each day!

Please contact me at any time via email and I would be ecstatic to chat about how to make healthy eating and fitness a part of your life :

I promise you will feel so much better, and there is no better feeling than knowing you are taking care of your body each day!
